This year, Raksha Bandhan is being celebrated over two days, with discussions about whether August 18 or 19 is the ideal date, the news outlet The Hindustan Times reported.
According to astrologers, both days are auspicious for the festival. However, the most favorable time or “Shubh Muhurat” to tie the Rakhi is on August 19, According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious time to tie Rakhi to your siblings is during Aparahna, which is late afternoon. If one is unable to tie Rakhi during Aparahna time, they can perform the rituals during the Pradosh time. However, one should avoid tying Rakhi during Bhadra time, the news outlet further said.
