Cross-border smuggling module busted, one held: Punjab DGP

In an intelligence-based operation, the State Special Operation Cell (#SSOC), Amritsar, busted a cross-border smuggling module by apprehending Rajwant Singh @ Raju. The accused has been in contact with #Pakistan-based smuggler, who was pushing huge consignments of weapons and drugs into Indian territory through drones and other means, said Punjab DGP, Gaurav Yadav, in his post on X formerly known as Twitter.

“FIR has been registered at PS SSOC, #Amritsar. Further investigations are underway to determine the previous smuggling activities carried out by the accused,” he added.

Giving details, he said that the police has recovered a  2 Glock pistols along with 2 magazines and Punjab Police is fully committed to keep #Punjab safe and secure as per directions of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, he added.
