Home Minister Amit Shah condemned the militant attack in Gagangir of Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of seven civilians. Describing the attack as a “despicable act of cowardice,” Shah assured that those responsible “will not be spared” and will face the “harshest response” from security forces. He extended condolences to the families of the deceased and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
A 47-year-old construction worker from Gurdaspur, Gurmeet Singh, was among seven individuals killed in a terror attack late Sunday night. The victims also included Dr. Shahnawaz, a resident of Nayidgam in Kashmir’s Budgam; Mohammad Haneef; Faheem Nasir, a safety manager; and Kaleem, all hailing from Bihar. Besides it, Anil Kumar Shukla, a mechanical manager from Madhya Pradesh, and Shashi Abrol from Jammu were identified as victims.
According to reports, terrorists targeted laborers working on a strategic tunnel project that aims to link the Kashmir Valley with Ladakh. The project holds military significance due to its proximity to the borders with Pakistan and China.
